Emergency First Aid at Work

Where an organisation's risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

On completion delegates receive a certificate valid for 3 years through First Aid Awards Ltd, who are regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation.  Any course that leads to an Ofqual regulated qualification is of a high standard and meets the rigorous requirements of a national awarded organisation.

First Aid at Work

3 day / 18 hour blended learning course 

£190 per person

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this level 3 qualification (level 6 in Scotland) will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.

This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

This course will give the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This course runs over 18 hours spread over at least 3 days. Ideally, the course should be run over three consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire providing it is completed within 10 weeks of starting the course and the training sessions last for a minimum of two hours. This can be a combination of remote training via Zoom, and face to face classroom for practical assessments.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.  A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.

Paediatric First Aid 

OFSTED and EYFS recognised

12 hour blended learning course

This 12 hour regulated course for Paediatric First Aid, for groups of up to 12 people, meets the requirements of OFSTED and is therefore suitable for teachers to complete their registrations. It follows the latest guidelines from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to give people peace of mind when looking after young children.

The qualification covers everything you need to know on helping a sick, injured or ill child, prior to the arrival of the emergency services.

​

This course is suitable for teachers, nursery workers, childminders, nannies wanting to be OFSTED registered, and anyone working within a child related business who need to meet the 12 hour course certification.

Emergency Paediatric First Aid

6 hour blended learning course

This course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of Paediatric First Aid training, so the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.

The qualification covers the practical skills that are required to save the life of child or infant during an emergency. This course is suitable for nannies not requiring Ofsted registration, childcarers wanting annual refreshers, au pairs, babysitters and schools who mainly need to learn about the practical elements of First Aid.

Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) are now becoming more common throughout a range of public and work places. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.

This very practical course will enable your learners to use the AED competently and with confidence.

Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in resuscitation and choking procedures.

This Basic Life Support course will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical life-saving assistance until support arrives.

This course also covers the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

Activity First Aid

2 day / 12 hour blended learning course

Level 3 Activity First Aid : 2-day course


This Level 3 qualification is made up of two units including First Aid Essentials. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.

Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making the full qualification very comprehensive.

Unit 1, (or day 1) of this qualification contains and covers the learning outcomes of the level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, so those who wish to gain the level 3 award in EFAW are able to sit day 1 of this qualification.

Level 2 RQF / Level 5 SCQF Student First Aid : 3-hour course


As of the end of September 2020, the Government announced that health education will be compulsory in all state-funded schools in England and this includes basic first aid training.


This 3-hour Student First Aid course has been designed for key stage 3 and key stage 4 students (11+ years) and fulfils the requirements of the Department for Education in respect of first aid training.

Not only would secondary schools meet the statutory requirements for health education, but students would also have the opportunity to attain a nationally regulated qualification, enhance their CV and develop new life skills.

The assessment is carried out through practical demonstration and a multiple-choice question paper. A three-year Level 2 Student First Aid qualification will be issued to all, subject to assessment.

This is a very basic introduction to First Aid and Defibrillation aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 11, but it can suit children of any age.

The class is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies.  

​​

The class will show complete respect for the child’s ability, make it educational and practical, and instill the importance of helping someone who is poorly or injured.

​​

Delivered by an Ofsted registered Nanny turned First Aid Trainer and mother of one adventurous boy.
